cationic starch
CATIONIC STARCH
The starch with cationic feature which is made of natural corn starch reacted with cationic by etherification.
Ⅰ CHARACTERISTICS
Low gelatinization temperature, clear solution, better fluidity, stability viscosity, decreased retrogration,
with higher dispersion and solubility.
Ⅱ USAGE IN PAPER MAKING
1. With positive electrical charge, the fiber and filling in paper pulp are with negative electric charge,
most of chargers can be absorbed by cationic starch. Then improve the attachment rate of tiny fiber
partials, reduce energy consumption.
2. Mainly used as wet end additive, combine with fillings and fibers, Accelerate water filter, improve
paper machine speed, and reduce pollution and energy consumption.
3. Also used as surface adhesive agent in high grade paper making, improve paper
surface strength and drying rate, prevent powder off and fiber granular off. Also used
as coating sizing agent.
